Overview
You help the person you support get out of the house and into the community: volunteering, going to the library, learning new skills, and meeting people.
The service is called Customized Community Supports - Individual, or CCS-I. It is part of the DD Waiver.
The person and their guardian choose their caregiver. Family members, including parents and guardians, can be paid for this work as long as state rules are met. Lift hires you, trains you, and runs payroll.
What you would do
- Plan outings and activities together with the person you support.
- Drive to and from activities in the community.
- Help them practice everyday skills, like shopping, cooking, or riding the bus.
- Help work toward the goals in the care plan.
- Log your hours and write a short shift note on your phone.
Requirements
- The person you support is on the DD Waiver with CCS-I in their budget.
- The person, or their guardian, chooses you.
- Be 18 or older and able to work in the United States.
- Pass a background check and finish the training the state requires. We schedule it and we pay for it.
- Have a smartphone. Hours, notes, and pay all live in one simple app.
- No caregiving experience needed. We train you.
If you are a parent, spouse, or guardian
State rules allow you to be paid for CCS-I, with a few conditions:
- If the service includes personal care, you can only be paid for care that goes beyond what a parent or spouse would ordinarily provide.
- You can be paid for up to 40 hours of services in any 7 day period.
- For kids, services happen outside school hours. Ages 14 and up need an agency based Person-Centered Assessment first.
We will walk you through all of this. It is simpler than it sounds.
